Fashion: Top Trends

Neon Summer Bloom

With the beautiful weather we’ve been having it almost seems a shame to look forward to autumn/winter 2009, but as we all know almost doesn’t count- I think we can have our cake and eat it too!

So for all of you fashionistas out there here is a run down of what you should be investing in for autumn/winter 2009. There’s good news for all feeling a pinch from the recession as numerous trends have resurfaced from both spring/summer 2009 and autumn/winter 2008. So don’t archive all your floral prints just yet, faded florals were sprinkled across Marc Jacob and Peter Jensen collections. The shouldered trend is also going strong as seen at Alexander Wang, Zac Posen, Derek Lam and Marchesa. Two contrasting trends were showcased across the fashion weeks. Designers were perhaps displaying some optimism regarding the future with a futuristic theme featuring again this season at Topshop Unique, Richard Nicoll and Gareth Pugh as well as neon bright flashes popping up across Michael Kors and Versace. However a darker trend was also evident. Copious amounts of black, velvet and leather paraded down the catwalk at Balmain, Proenza Schouler and Rag and Bone. So dig out your finest 80s attire and channel Yigal Azrouël, Marc Jacobs or Alexander Wang.

Red and black colour combinations were seen at many shows including Marios Schwab, Alexander McQueen and Christopher Kane, providing us with an easy trend to buy into and for a subtler nod to the trend this could be simply reflected in your accessories.

With so many trends we’re spoiled for choice but fortunately have plenty of time to get our autumn/winter wardrobes in shape, so hold back on those winter blues (or blacks) and make the most of the bright colours seen this spring/summer!

The Hills Fashion Face-Off: Lo vs. LC vs. Audrina

The stunning Hills trio were out at Hollywood hot spot Beso. As always they looked great, but who pulled off the Hollywood 'it' girl the best? It's a tough decision, but we believe in your ability to vote.

Be Bold!

As New York fashion week begins for Autumn/Winter 2009 we can all breathe a sigh of relief that spring has officially arrived. While it may make us yearn for some sun for most of us that’s not an option and lets face it virtually impossible in England; we don’t want to use up our annual week of sun so soon in the year! Luckily the new spring/summer 2009 trends allow us to brighten up our wardrobe without too much expense. While the weather may be drab and the economic climate depressing take the opportunity to update your style in the seasons’ key trends through your accessories. Embrace the bold 80s colours (oranges, yellows, bright pinks) as seen at Christopher Kane, Versace, Matthew Williamson and Marc Jacobs and let the future be bright and very orange!
Alternatively a subtler approach may be more your thing. The flip side to the 80s trend emphasised a softer, more romantic style. Nudes, peaches, pastel pinks and creams throughout the Calvin Klein, Phillip Lim, Alberta Ferretti and Emma Cook collections allowed for a more feminine direction.
As usual our fashion options are endless so choose the trend that represents you or be a fashion chameleon and adapt all the trends to show your personal
style.

Fashion at The Original Doll!

All Under £7 at TheOrigialDoll.Com!

When it comes to color, fashionistas can either use it as an excuse to push the envelope with bold, daring brights or take a more subtle approach with delicate pastels. During New York Fall Fashion Week, both vibrant colors and muted pastels made a major impact on the runway. These styles are expected to be huge this season, so women who prefer either end of the color spectrum can (and should) embrace both trends.
